RACE RETRO 2025 TO SUPPORT MISSION MOTORSPORT
)
Race Retro has chosen Mission Motorsport as its charity partner for 2025. This incredible organisation helps veterans and service leavers rebuild their lives through racing, retraining, and recovery.
Capitalising on the unique and astonishing healing powers of recovery sport, namely motorsport and opportunities in the automotive industry, Mission Motorsport helps veterans, wounded, injured and sick, serving personnel and their families transition to civilian life.
Show Director Lee Masters said: “We are so proud to support Mission Motorsport and the amazing work this incredible charity does to help and support service men and women. Given all that these veterans have done for us; it is only right we now do what we can for them.”
Since its founding in 2012, Mission Motorsport has provided pathways for recovery, rehabilitation, and employment for members of the Armed Forces community. It has supported over 2,040 wounded, injured, or sick veterans through recovery-focussed motorsport activities. Additionally, the charity has helped and facilitated new career pathways in the automotive industry leading to employment for more than 2,000 veterans.
Living by its mantra, Race, Retrain, Recover, Mission Motorsport’s recovery sporting programme, provides a positive and supportive environment enabling beneficiaries to rebuild confidence, access support and lead happy, fulfilling lives beyond the military. Veterans, serving personnel, and their families can participate in passenger rides, track days, and event attendance, aiding both physical and mental recovery. Signature events like the annual Race of Remembrance bring together professionals, amateurs, and veterans to celebrate teamwork, perseverance, and inclusivity.
Beyond motorsport, Mission Motorsport empowers individuals with training and automotive qualifications to prepare them for civilian employment. The charity has strong partnerships with industries such as Automotive, Manufacturing, and Renewable Energy, offering veterans a diverse range of career opportunities.
For many of the over 30,000 service leavers in the past 24 years, the transition to civilian life can be incredibly challenging. They may face difficulties adjusting to a world without the structure and sense of purpose the military provides, often compounded by physical injuries, mental health struggles, or a lack of confidence in finding a new career path. By donating and supporting this cause, you’re helping veterans overcome these challenges and build brighter futures.
Attending Race Retro and donating to Mission Motorsport helps the charity continue their vital work supporting veterans, service leavers, their families, and the wider Armed Forces community. Visitors will have the opportunity to donate when purchasing a ticket or to meet members of the Mission Motorsport team at the show.
