Don Wales was born into the record-breaking Campbell family and has always been immensely proud of his heritage. His Grandfather, Sir Malcolm Campbell was a hero during what many would see as the heyday of record breaking in the 1930s and his uncle, Donald Campbell is still the only man to hold the world speed records on land and on water in the same year.

Inevitably, Don Wales has also broken records but he is extremely proud of working with the Ruskin Museum and other members of the Campbell family, in bringing Donald Campbel’s K7 back to Coniston.
